Contribuir a la retroalimentaciónWe go to Queens for breakfast at least once a week. Jim and Zara are always there to greet you with a smile and a cup of coffee. It's obvious that it's a local favorite from the number of people who go there, and the friendly, casual way they interact. Oh, and the food is good too.
Jim & Zara own and operate this family business and will always bend over backwards to take care of you. Many regulars but even first time visitors are treated like family. Fantastic home cooking and will always take care of secial orders.
I've been going to this Mom & Pop restaurant for years, especially when I worked next door at St Paul's Cathedral. I feel like family, and often will get up and help serve; especially during the rush times.
Jim & Zara can call almost everyone by name, and remember what you eat depending on the day. I feel like family there, so eat there at least 3 times a week, usually more.
With the age of this restaurant I was amazed this place isn't reviewed, and perhaps it's because of the poor experience people must have here.This is a cafeteria style restaurant, appears to be a mom and pop style place. Based on my experience I can only believe it to still be in operation due to lack of options/proximity to office buildings.As I waited 20+ minutes in a line of THREE people for a small salad, I had plenty of time to observe the following:Undercooked soggy bacon ("done" in an oven) being dropped onto the cold french fries in the waiting area. Then returned to the waiting pan. Those same fries (which had been sitting since before I arrived, were then served to another customer who appeared to have ordered a vegetarian omelette.Hot dogs or sausage were sitting in a tray (uncovered) that appeared to have dried out to the point that you would take your chance with a convenience store rolling hot dog.The cook (or whatever) accidentally broke egg yolks while sliding eggs out of the frying pan then proceeded to take them over to the customer and unceremoniously drop them on the table and walk away.Finally I watched the man working handle cash then immediately return to handling food. This is cold and flu season. Gross.After watching all this, and waiting for 20 minutes, I had enough and told the lady to cancel my order (a small salad) that she had not started. She then decided to try and curse me out as "She has 15 orders on the go, who am I to think I am more important"... I politely stated "I understand, I am just letting you know so that you don't waste food"... she mocked me as I walked out the door.I
