Contribuir a la retroalimentaciónHave had numerous servings in the last couple of years and have been satisfied with the quality and portions of food. Seems lots of others have not, but if they are comparing the quality and standard from years ago then it 's not all that fair in my opinion. Sure, they are going to continue to use the previous accolade of 'Best in NZ ', but who wouldn 't! Of course the prices are high and drinks are expensive I mean after all it 's Fish 'N 'Chips at the end of the day and I have definitely had better elsewhere but if your after a fresh piece of bluenose some calamari and a cold one to wash it down while sitting right over the Mangonui harbour it comes at a price these days! PS it 's always very clean and tidy considering the numbers that go through there, and I have never had rude or ignorant service there.
I think some of the reviews below are a bit harsh. If you want cheap takeaways from a soulless corner shop you've come to the wrong place.<br/ <br/ We hardly ever eat fish chips, but when we do we happily drive 45 min north from Kerikeri and pay a premium price to eat beautifully cooked bluenose over the water.<br/ <br/ NZ's best fish and chips would be stretching it (anyone actually know where that is? but they are very very good.<br/ <br/ You can pick up some foul greasies cheaply at your local, or come here and treat yourselves.
yup. I agree. Best fish n chips perhaps in the entire world... better than London these days. But try them with traditional malt vinegar people. It's the best!
Visited about a month ago. The food tasted amazing, so fresh, along with an awesome view and a cold beer. Watch out for the gorgeous young blond behind the bar!
This is one fish and chip restaurant/cafe that has it all right, from the perfect fresh fish battered perfectly to the free fresh lemon slices, and the excellent coffee machine in the dining area. I have brought visiting friends and family from overseas here, and more recently clients on my landyachting adventures. The place is famous with good reason. Here's a hint; try your chips with a light drizzling of lemon juice it's a favourite of mine :
