The reason I didn't give it a 5 is because one of my pet peeves occurred.... 1. The waitress forgot our juiceorder half-way through our meal we received it, then 2. She asked if we would like more water and never brought it. She justbrought us the ticket and said good-bye. I know it may sound petty, but hey gotta have drinks while you're scarfing downhomemade biscuits!
It's a good breakfast spot, coffee was refilled often but only because it took about an hour to get our food. I understand the kitchen was backed up but it took too long and nothing was done about it. I got the breakfast sandwich, nothing amazing butnothing bad.
Delicious fried chicken ???? lemon meringue was okay for us , but if you like lemon desserts in general you will like. Also employees were super friendly.
Great weekend breakfast! Simple food, but tasty. For example, plain coffee, no mocha. But migas were good! Place was packed. They let us stay and talk, didn't kick us out when we finished eating. Thankfully it was less full by then.
Just picked up lunch and was very disappointed. I got the Chicken Fried Chicken with Macaroni and Cheese and Onion Rings I also got a slice of Carrot Cake for dessert. The Chicken Fried Chicken was great and the Onion Rings were too. However, the Macaroniand Cheese tasted like watery noodles. It was light yellow but not a hint of cheesy flavor or seasoning of any kind. It wassitting liquid when I opened the container. The Carrot Cake was also flavorless. No spices (Cinnamon? Nutmeg? Allspice? . At$5.75 a slice, it was a splurge for me. So disappointed? Definitely not the Cafe 290 I remembered from years ago?
