Contribuir a la retroalimentaciónMy friends and I were originally planning on going to Magic Kingdom this week, but when we realized it was going to be Spring Break, we had to change our plans. I am so glad that we had to change our plans because the Wantilan Luau was everything and more than I expected it to be. From the food, to the singers/musicians, the dances, stuff, and the general atmosphere, everything was amazing. I loved that we were invited up to join in with drumming and Dancing, it made it even more special. I also enjoyed that we could take pictures with the dances afterwards. Learning even just a little bit of the different Polynesian nations was amazing. Definitely worth the price, and I will definitely retorno again and again.
We had an amazing time at the show. We are locals here in Orlando and always looking for new things to try. We actually have a Hawaii trip booked next month so decided to try the Luau to get us excited about the trip... this team did not disappoint! The talent was fun, engaging, and very entertaining. The show was interactive with the audience so it never gets boring. The dances were beautiful and the fire show was incredible. The buffet was so good. Many options to choose from. Even if you have restrictions, there are GF, DF, VEGAN options. If you have no restrictions, good news, everything is delicious anyway. The table service was friendly and efficient. I recommend coming a few minutes early and meeting the dancers in the lawn for the preshow. They taught us some authentic moves although we were not any good lol. We splurged for the upgrade. The souvenir tiki cup is nice, but honestly, all the seats are probably equally as good so you can't go wrong, no matter which package you decide on. Make sure to valet and get the parking ticket validated so it's only $5 (plus tip of course). That's really your only additional cost, as food and drink tips are included in the cost of your ticket. If you're on the fence, just book it. You won't regret it.
Event was overpriced for the food and show experience. I should have researched the venue before booking. The event takes place under an outdoor tent and you sit at folding tables and chairs much like a wedding reception. Tables are large seat 12 so difficult to have a conversation over the meal. I did not realize that children aged 10 12 were also charged at the adult price, which was a bit disappointing as my two kids ate from the kid buffet of mac and cheese and chicken nuggets. The adult buffet was satisfactory but nothing special. No desserts appropriate for kids.
The food was excellent. Check in was a little awkward, requiring a wait in line to check-in, then a wait on the lawn area for the restaurant area, then another line to wait to be taken to your seats. The food was excellent and the performers were enthusiastic. The show isn't super authentic, but was enjoyable. The service was very good. I did take issue with our 11 year old being charged as an adult, and also being charged a fee for alcohol and sales tax on alcohol sales. Despite the fact they were billing for a minor, they say this is just how their billing works and they would not take the charges off. Adults are served unlimited mai tais, beer or wine, seemed like a rip-off to be charged this portion of the fees for a child.
One of the best buffet dinners I've ever eaten. Fresh, creative, and diverse choices. I've now attended both the Disney Polynesian luau and the Wantilan luau and rate the Wantilan as better value for the money. Also recommend spending the extra money (less than $10 per person) for preferred seating at the first two tables to see the show up close. The dancers were amazing!
