Contribuir a la retroalimentaciónI would be driven several times by the place, but finally my fiancée and I decided to look over and check. even if the restaurant is at the end of a rest.
This rather inconceivable fried fishing place has a whole lot character. When I went into the eyes, a writing and a man was concentrated, asking if we were there.
In this economy, being different, is the only way to deal with the restaurant-hyper contest in houston, I will now go my soapbox.
First off service is excellent, storefront is straight bodega style (new yorkish). The owner welcomes you at the door and is so courteous, he said he has the best, son I took him up. It's very good, I love supporting small businesses. I ordered the fish, shrimp, and fries. Fish was good, a bit crispy, but good, shrimp was DELCIOUS, AND FRIES were ok. The fries could use more seasoning though. I will definitely be back.
I'd driven by the place several times but finally my fiance and I decided to swing by and check ir out. Even though the restaurant is on the end of a quiet looking strip center, the place stands out with its bright signage and bold claim to being the best fried fish in the galaxy. The owner seems to always be on site. He's a tax professional and a chef, so he's providing both services out of this small storefront with just about four tables and eight chairs. He's very friendly and really buys into his store gimmick. He quotes you the cost in Galaxy Dollars (thankfully equivalent to one US cent in exchange rate) and even has his own song promoting his work. We opted for fried fish, fried shrimp, onion rings, and hush puppies. You could tell it was all made in house. The hush puppies had actual corn in the mix and were coated with an additional layer of cornmeal. The shrimp were large, butterflied, and coated with a more simple breading. The onion rings had a similar simple breading. The fish itself had obviously been bathed in some kind of buffalo or red hot sauce before being coated. The red exterior didn't quite cling to the cornmeal, which provided a nice crispy husk. The filets were well-cooked, light and flaky. We'll definitely be back to try some of the other items on the menu.
