Van Der Valk Middelburg

The indoor play corner and the very large outdoor playground make this an ideal hotel for small children. But the dinner was not on the same level as other van der valk hotels: We took the dinner deal menu. These are selected dishes that are also on the a la carte. But we noticed that they were smaller than at other tables. That twists a bit the starter was brought within 3 minutes! It was immediately noticeable that the wantan was not fresh. Tasted like rubber, like a bag of chips that had been open for a week. Same with the baked ganda ham. Clearly this dish is not freshly made but has been in the fridge for some time... we also report this to the service who later informed us that the chef said that this is the intention... seems a bit unlikely to me. .. with debit cards you are asked to tip. I don't think that's done either. In the US that is the intention because there the service only earns 1 dollar 20 cents an hour. But as far as I know there are minimum wages in the Netherlands... It certainly wasn't a bad experience but I don't know if I'll be back for the food...

Heel fijn hotel, fijn ontbijt, aangename kamers (die volledig verduisterd kunnen worden) Fijne propere gekleede wellness Tip: de toegang van de wellness vanuit het zwembad moet worden geopend met de sleutelkaart. Ik vermoed zodat er geen kinderen binnen en buiten kunnen lopen. Misschien kan de badge voor de kaart vervangen worden door een drukknop op hoogte. Zo moet je in de wellness niet met je sleutelkaart (of smartphone) rondlopen

Nice place to stay. Rooms clean and well maintained. Pleasant staff who think along. The swimming pool and the weleness are wonderful to relax. Location a little less but that should not spoil the fun. Rooms: 5 Service: 5 Location: 4 Hotel highlights: Luxury, Kid-friendly, Great value

Everything is fine, only in the Kitchen it takes a long time to prepare orders for an awfully long time. Rooms: 5 Service: 1 Location: 3
