We were the only ones sitting in the piano room (which I was not sure at first because it was a bit loud, but the musician was amazing). It was nice because we felt like we were the only ones there and we didn't have to worry about talking about others. The service was good, although the servers tried their best to speak with an Italian accent and the one spilled wine on the tablecloth when he poured the tasting. The only negative thing I have about the service is that my girlfriend did not want the meatballs appetizer and was told that they were from a vegetarian dish. When the dish arrived, it was the meat and cheese plate (far from vegetarian), but they enjoyed most cheese and I ate most meat. We both chose to get the Chief Tasting and they were ready to work with us on some of the elections. Overall the food was great from the beginning to the end and we were both full! I had the fillet and she had the scalop. I asked that my fillet is rarely cooked, and it was med. rare (not so big deal) but the scollops were perfectly cooked. The only real complaint I would have to say about this place is the price... (which explains why there were only about 15 people there at 7:30 on a Saturday night). I went out after a $40 tip with almost $300 shot. I was in many upscale and hostile facilities and have spent much less with the same or better quality of food/services. One thing this place has is the atmosphere. I would recommend this place if you want to spend the money for a romantic evening.
A real Italian restaurant. Finally, my wife and I can get authentic Italian cuisine in Nashville. The tasting menu was excellent and the service was perfect. The interior design is amazing. While a bit more expensive than other restaurants, you will be happy that you have come.
This Italian restaurant is truly one of a kind!! Chef Rossi has truly brought the flavors of Italy to Nashville!! If you enjoy authentic Italian dishes in a luxurious setting, then Tartufo is the perfect spot for you. The staff is excellent, the food is incredible, and the scenery is stunning, making Tartufo stand out as one of the best dining options in Nashville. A must-visit for anyone who appreciates an authentic Italian dining experience. Five stars all the way!
The staff is always very friendly and the food is excellent. It's expensive, but it's worth it. I'm here three times now and it's not disappointed. I lived in Chicago and NYC to find a place close to everything is difficult in Nashville. I think that's the best thing in town. It is from the beaten path, so there are still many people who do not know about it, so it is usually easy to come.
We ate at Tartufo last night. It was a first class dining experience in every way. My wife had the risotto which was prepared table side by the chef and was delicious. I had the gnocchi and it was by far the best pasta dish I have had in a long time, maybe ever. We both had the filet for our main which was a smaller portion but perfectly prepared. The menu is a 5 course Prix Fixe for $75 which you can upgrade several of the selections for an additional fee. Everything was extraordinary if you are in Nashville and looking for a fine dining experience it's a must try. Some of the previous reviewers don't seem to understand what to expect from a fine dining restaurant. Yes it's expensive, you get what you pay for. Also, the portion sizes are small because you are eating 5 courses. If you want huge portions of mediocre food go to maggiono's otherwise head over to Tartufo.
