Contribuir a la retroalimentaciónI'm updating this review again. This time I'm returning stars that I'd removed when the new owners (at the time) eliminated happy hour. I'm happy to report that happy hour is back at the hula hut. On our most recent visit, we were very pleased with all aspects of the experience. Looks like new management has made great progress over the past few months. Parking: Big parking lot across the street and up the hill Kid-friendliness: If you must
I 've been going to hula hut since 2012 and ive recommended the restaurant to many, many people for what used to be delicious food, excellent service and atmosphere but I hadn 't been there since around April of 2024, I don 't know what 's changed but the service has gone to hell, our server today had to be searched for several times, a couple of times reminded to bring some items, her excuse everytime was oh they didn 't bring it yet I mean we asked you for basic things, you should confirm if we ever received it, food kept getting cold because we 're waiting for more tortillas and or lettuce, the food just didn 't taste as good as it used to either, may or may not be because it was getting cold while we were trying to figure out when the tortillas and lettuce is coming, in the past we 'd see several staff members in and out of dining area but seems they 've either cut down or nobody 's wanting to work because kinda had to hunt them down for service. Something has changed in the last few months, I don 't know if I 'll be recommending and or going there again after tonight 's experience.
My team had a dinner here recently and we had a great time! The food was delicious! They were really attentive and accommodating of a large group. My team was very pleased!
Hula Hut has earned a well-deserved spot on my list of favorite Austin restaurants. The Hawaiian-inspired atmosphere, from the decor to the menu, creates a truly immersive experience. I tried the Hawaiian BBQ pork sandwich, and it was fantastic. The combination of flavors, including the pineapple, was perfectly balanced. The pork was tender and flavorful, and the sandwich wasn’t overly greasy. If you’re looking for a taste of Hawaii in Austin, Hula Hut is a must visit. I can’t wait to go back and try something new.
We got salads. Both large portions. Fresh! Surfer's salad had a think cut of mahi-mahi, with mango vinaigrette was delicious. Hula Hut chop salad was good, not special. Nice mix of lettuce pistachios, average dressing. Eat outside for great atmosphere.
