Contribuir a la retroalimentaciónI discovered this charming restaurant in Alexandria. The name intrigued me and the amazing food and service made me a regular customer. The coffee here is the best in the area. The food menu is full of fresh and delicious options. My favorite is the Cobb salad, and on special days, indulging in a latte with brownies is a must - at least once a week!
I bought a gift certificate for a friend who supported me during my cancer treatment, but the new ownership of the restaurant is refusing to honor it. I will not be returning to this restaurant again. It is disappointing, but unfortunately, it is the truth. The business should be ashamed of themselves.
Had a gift certificate for one of their cooking classes this owner will not honour it. When one buys a company they take on the liability of that company. Shameful!! Would not even provide a credit for something else. Says a lot about people that now own it!
My mother and I went to our favorite restaurant in Alexandria, only to be extremely disappointed with the food quality and presentation. When I asked for more toilet paper, they took 20 minutes to restock, leaving my mother without any. The rice was overcooked and mushy, the tofu was undercooked, and the jerk spice was barely noticeable. My mother's chicken teriyaki on rice was swimming in liquid, more like a soup than a dish. It's a shame to see the decline in quality under the new ownership - we have lost our beloved Quirky Carrot experience.
Under new ownership, and not the place it once was. It is beyond me why someone would buy a business, keep the name, and then trash everything we loved about the restaurant. Now they are offering afternoon tea on Sundays (with an English chef no less! , which is so far removed from what this place used to be, I can’t even wrap my head around it. I am so disappointed in the new Quirky. It would have been infinitely better for the restaurant name to have been retired, leaving us with our wonderful memories untarnished. What was the point of buying the name and all that goodwill, only to throw it away? And what’s with the new children’s menu (mini pizza?! grilled cheese?! mini burger? ? The old Quirky offered healthy soups, salads and sandwiches and home-baked goodies that children were pleased to eat (judging by the number of them seen happily munching away at the tables. It is so disappointing to see this place devolving into more of the same old restaurant stuff we already have in this small town... chicken burgers, pizza... ugh. Bring back the mushroom paninis and grilled kimcheese! In addition, the new owner refuses to honour gift cards issued by previous owner, which is something that should have been worked out with the sale of the business. A teenage friend who works hard for her money gave me a $50 gift card to Quirky, and now it’s garbage. We used to go to Quirky several times a week. They have now lost me as a customer for life. At the moment, it seems the Quirky Carrot doesn’t seem to know WHAT it wants to be. It 's a rudderless ship of a restaurant. I 'm just sad and angry we have lost something that was previously so wonderful.
