My family has been looking for a good Chinese restaurant in Oakville for a while, so were keen to try this one when it opened. Unfortunately it's much the same as the rest - poor quality, bland food. We'll keep looking
I received their flyer in the mail and thought I would try them out for lunch. The restaurant is fairly spartan in terms of decoration. It was totally quiet so I could hear the conversations of other customers. Maybe some quiet background music would be good. There were just two other tables of customers when I was there and one take-out order. The waiter never said hello, good-bye, thank you etc. He initially asked if I wanted to eat in or order take-out. He never ever at any point asked how the food was, if I wanted soy sauce, extra water or anything.I ordered the hot & sour soup, the lunch special of chicken with mixed vegetables, chicken fried rice and a diet coke. The food came out fairly quickly and it was hot temperature wise. The soup was good but the broth was a bit watery and it was a bit bland in terms of spice. The lunch was good but again it could have used some soy sauce or a bit more spice. The room temperature diet coke was served in the can with ice in the glass. It would be better if they could serve pop cold which is the normal expectation. The portions were both very big so I had to take some home. The prices are very reasonable though. I paid $9.75 plus tax and tip. Overall, it was a good lunch though and I would go back there.
First experience and surely last. Out of the six dishes I ordered, only one did I enjoy. Kung Pao chicken pieces were almost all with pieces of bone or cartilage. Wrong noodles with order. Very unpleased overall and a waste of money since I will throw a lot out.
My server quickly dealt with misleading menu items being offered and price expectations. I pointed our their error and that they should not do it the future with other customers. I treated it as a learning experience for them but they didn't charge me extra for me pointing out their error in the first place. Having moved on from this initial customer service the experience overall was good here. Food was done well and comparable to other eateries in the area. Some demand for take out and sit in meals from the general public. Have been opened since last December/16 and appears people are hearing about this place. What impressed me the most about their customer service was my server explained to a WASP person on what far eastern people like to eat. Turns out he was a business man wanting to feed a work crew made up of far eastern workers their own country's home food. Had the lunch time special plus soup which was an extra charge.
Authentic food. Love everything with Sichuan peppercorns. The fish and shrimps with peppercorns and peppers are very flavourful.
