Contribuir a la retroalimentaciónI did some research before heading out on a road trip to McCreary and found this place online. I was very pleased with my search. We chose to bypass Dauphin and take a lovely little highway out to Ochre River. The drive was beautiful and we arrived at our lunch stop. Chef Dan greeted us as we walked in. The exterior was a bit worn and the interior was old, but Chef Dan was charming enough to make the stop worthwhile. The restaurant was busy and he was the only one working, but he still managed to take our orders, cook our food, be friendly and entertaining, and maintain his composure. We tried a variety of dishes including soup, burgers, fries, onion rings, sandwiches, open face roast beef, and chicken fingers, all of which were delicious. The only downside was that the soup could have been hotter. The atmosphere was casual and perfect for a quick bite, especially after a day at the beach. It seems that they only have special dinners on Thursday and Friday evenings. The community must really appreciate having this place around. Hats off to Chef Dan!
The chef at this restaurant is amazing and the wait staff is excellent. The food was cooked perfectly. Chef Dan is a fantastic cook who really went above and beyond to ensure my satisfaction!
We go there fairly regularly. A little oasis on the prairie . Dan does a great job. 3 meals a day. Home cooked. Always great.

We had a variety of items: soup, burgers, fries, onion rings, sandwich and an open face roast beef, oh, and chicken fingers and all were good. Wish the soup was a bit hotter but we were satisfied. Kudos to chef Dan!
This vintage building turned into a restaurant and grocery store in the Village of Ochre River is a hidden gem. Chef Dan serves home cooking that appeals to everyone. His supper specials on Thursday and Friday evenings are a treat and reasonable prices for hard working people.
