We haven't ordered from this restaurant in 2 years until today, and they still continue to disappoint. ! )TIP for online orders and requesting utensils to be included: call ahead of your delivery to remind them if you need them, but I doubt they will put them in the bag anyway. Side portions are always shorted to not even the very bare minimum. They will short you any way they can. Salmon was dry and disappointing. Steak ordered rare but cooked done. The cole slaw from Walmart across the street was much, MUCH better than from this restaurant. If they wanted to continue cutting corners, they just need to sneak in food from there! We will wait 3 or 4 years to order again, IF at all, but we will definitely give other local restaurants our consideration. The only thing that made the grade was the chips. Those chips just happen to be separate from Applebee's and bagged from another producer in Edinburg.
Food was ok once we got it but it was a little on the cold side. Very slow service. The atmosphere felt like I was at a cantina instead of the classy atmosphere that Applebee's used to have
Couldn 't rate the food we never made it that far. On two different occasions we attempted to dine at the Palmhurst TX location. Once we we seated it took forever to get a waitress to take our order or even acknowledge we werethere. On Monday March 25, 2024 we were once again seated and waiting for someone to take our order, after 8 to 10 minutes a couple of women came in an were seated behind us and they were immediately greeted by two waitresses and orders taken while our group of 4 just waited. I would hate to think it was discrimination, but it sure felt that way! We got up and left again. This time we tried the McAllen location where we experienced a much different reception and had a fantastic meal. The wait staff at the Palmhurst location could really use some training and definitely some in diversity. Very disappointing even after telling the manager why we were leaving it was like I 'm sorry but didn 't really seem real concerned. I will be sure and tell all of my friends and neighbors of my experience. At this time I would not recommend this location to any Winter Texan.
I just had the worst experience with Applebee's in my entire life. Applebee's in Palmhurst Texas. First the waitress comes to ask for our order but cuts my wife off midway through her order to ask me a question then starts to ask my wife all over again what she wants like they never talked before. Little did we know the whole shift was sitting next to us including the cook, eating and when he was done he went back to start cooking our meals. We actually had to walk up and ask the bartender to make our drinks. The food order took around an hour to make. The food actually came out in a bag on the plate! and to finish off, we paid and were leaving we were stopped at the door from the waitress saying she charged us the wrong amount. I asked what she wanted to do and she stormed off and then the manager came out and explained the situation. So, he refunded the amount we already paid and then went and charged us again. There was nothing that would invite us back. I'm military and have served over 22 years and have ate at Applebee's all over the country and never had such poor service as this. The only person in that building with good customer service was the bartender.
