The restaurant exceeded my expectations. The sheep meat cooked in its juice was succulent and delicious and I was pleasantly surprised it was available on Monday a day some restaurants in Pirot are closed 10/10. The summer potatoes were a generous portion and yummy but they had a few coarse salt grains I would prefer were not there 8/10. The cabbage salad was exactly that sliced cabbage. I am used to spicy food rich in herbs so I came prepared with my own spicy paprika powder, sumac, black pepper, oregano, fresh parsley and a whole lemon because I know Serbs eat little to no herbs and spices. Had I not brought my own spices and herbs I would have had to settle for the vinegar that is present on the table and I would have rated it a 6 but as I am aware of the culinary habits of the locals I enjoyed it and rate it 9/10. The 1 liter mineral water in a glass bottle is very cheap at only 150 RSD ! . The pear rakija was very good. It is not as strong as the Georgian version I am used to cha cha but it is similar to village distilled Hungarian palinka and was pleasant 9/10. The baklava was tasty and it had fresh walnuts and a tasty sugary syrup that was not too sweet 9/10. Excellent food, fast service, small place but still comfortable and pleasant. This is the place where the tradition of Pirot lives.
