Contribuir a la retroalimentaciónCame in for lunch around 1ish and it was completely dead. Typically you would think it would be pack because of the lunch rush. It kinda worried me. I ordered the chicken sandwich and it was not bad. Soda came out of a fountain which I hate because the carbonation is not there. Portion size is little, place looks clean and so is the bathroom.
OK I have to qualify this review with a couple of things... First, I used to cook and tend bar across the street in Niki's Nook in 1991-1992. Roman's opened while I worked there... So they are doing something right staying in business for about 20 years where other businesses have changed hands multiple times. Second, I was happy with my visit here but also disappointed. The bartender on duty Pat, was a lovely Thai girl with a ready smile and genuine enthusiasm for attending her customers. Full bar with a decent selection of beers. personally like to see some craft beers but that's me and not what may sell where young Marines want quantity over quality. The food is still prepared fresh to order so it takes a bit to get it but it's usually tasty. I ordered the Mantle Chicken sandwich. Mom goofed and made it spicy, no worries, I love spicy food so I asked to take it anyway. I noticed portions have changed, the sandwich is on the menu as Chicken with Bacon and Cheddar. It came with weak processed cheese slice, I'm guessing mild cheddar/american and one piece of bacon. Years ago it would have been more bacon and freshly sliced sharp cheddar. a few more fries wouldn't have hurt either. Once again they are doing something right they are still in business in a town where most others have come and gone multiple times. The food is fresh and tasty, and the menu is not overly cluttered. Pat is a joy to chat with while you are there. Check them out they are worth a visit. Sláinte!
Yesterday, I had the worst experience in my life with the waitress of this pub. She was very unprofessional and unpolite however she clearly asked for tips and at the end she put two additional beers on our bill. Unbelievable! I swear yesterday was the last time when we were there!!!
Here's the thing about Roman's: It's owned by one woman and ran from top to bottom by that very same woman most of the time. It's important that people understand that entering the restaurant. With that being said, a little bit of a wait is going to be expected. The food is good for the price you pay, especially the wings. Like it or leave it. It's a QTown landmark.
It's kinda telling when you're one of two bars in a tiny town absolutely surrounded and closed off by a Marine Corps base yet you're almost empty on a Friday night... To some it might be a sign you're doing it wrong.
