Contribuir a la retroalimentaciónFood halls are my favorite place to eat and this one was no exception. Covid-19: you can order and pay online. There was no one inside when I went to pickup my food. The back patio was crowded, but there are a few tables out front with no one else around. We ordered a Crow Burger and were not disappointed. If you love smash burgers, you'll love this one. It's thin, juicy, and delicious. It comes with that special sauce that so many burgers do these days (so good). It's really hard to go wrong with any of the restaurants at this food hall. This one is definitely a good stop.
Nestled inside Transfer Food Hall is Mama Crow's. Here's our rundown ... Atmosphere: we really like Transfer Food Hall, a fair amount of seating inside, outside, second floor, whatever. It's clean. You can grab a drink at the bar. Service: everyone was friendly. We went during a quiet evening so they seemed a bit bored (I mean, hello, who wouldn't be?! Food: My wife ordered the Patty Smash Burger which she felt compares well against anything she's had locally. Very good. I ordered the Crow Burger. It was messy. Maybe too messy (is that a thing? . While in my wife's burger the taste of the beef remained central, the Crow Burger is too filled with stuff, too hard to hold together, to hope to taste the beef. The fries were hot and fresh (yay! and well-seasoned. We have our local favorites and this won't make the list, but it is still a solid choice!
My mother and I went to Mama Crow's today Wednesday at noon, so the place was packed! Since we were really hungry, we didn't mind waiting for as long as we did! About 0:48 minutes later we got our food and began eating with a vengeance! But, we were really disappointed! The burger meat was as tasteless and as greasy as any other burger at a cheap joint and that was despite the fact that they were topped with melted cheese, onions, tomatoes, and other stuff! So based on what the burgers tasted like, we figured they just buy the frozen burger paddies and grill them on their own fat on the flat iron rather than preparing the ground meat with spices like pepper, grilled onions, garlic, etc to make them tasty. However, the fries were the worse part of it: charbroiled, dry, and bitter! I mean, the place is not cheap, so they could at least cook something authentic that tastes better. We've been to different countries and tried different foods, so we're not joking about this restaurant. Hopefully the management will read this comment and definitely improve their cooking so they can keep savvy customers happy as well!
Two stars because the food is actually good. Would have been one star purely based on service. Employees aimlessly walking around. Several employees unashamedly walking around on their cell phones while customers are in line. No sense of urgency to get orders filled. No pride in what they do compared to the other establishments at Transfer who always go above and beyond. Not quite sure how this place is still in business except that folks who want a burger just have to endure it. Where is the owner? No accountability
We ordered the Raising Kale salad, Crow Burger, and Crow Fries. The burger and fries were awesome! The salad had alot of unique items and I didn't personally enjoy the flavor. I would order the Veggie burger next time.
