The Indulgent Baker - Reading

Caversham is lucky to have this fabulous bakery. Bread, rolls, cakes are the best. What’s missing is your best ever Chocolate Eclairs and Viennese cakes with the frosted cream and jam in. Hopefully we will see them soon. Staff are welcoming and helpful even when they are under pressure cooking bacon and sausages etc etc. Always recommend you to passers by. Thank you.

This bakery was invaluable during the COVID days. It was lovely to be able to have their fresh bread and sausage rolls delivered. I adore their multi seeded bread and whilst a little expensive, it is well worth the £3 price. Their knotted donuts are tasty too% The staff always have smiles on their faces too. Thank you.

We arrived a bit late for lunch, having found our usual spot had sold out of all food. The bread, as you would expect, was excellent, and the filled meat baps were lovely. Staff were friendly and helpful. Thank you!

I have often looked in at the bakery and yesterday decided to venture in. The place was busy. The queue was almost out of the door at one point. I managed to get a window seat and within 10 minutes, the seating area was packed with people. The staff were helpful, friendly and washed their hands regularly, which was nice to see. Really nice atmosphere. The food was delicious and the coffee was great. I will definitely visit again and very likely again and again after that.

Visited yesterday, not knowing the area and just needing some lunch prior to a meeting. Had a tea cake hot drink deal, was lovely. Great service, lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. Would visit again if I was in the area again.
