I'm tired of my birthday cake. after lunch with the family we tried to cut the cake and were unsuccessful. the top was so hard and slipping off that we led with a steak knife. I called and left both verbal and voicemail messages from 8/16/15 to 8/26/15. the baker has returned my call to thurs. 8/27/15 at about 10:18 o'clock he was extremely rudely repeated that he does not make bad cake, refused to make another cake, and said he won't refund me. Stale black forest kuchen. I've been buying cakes of Jean-Jacques for the birthdays of my sons for about five years. this year they were fabulous! the cake we had on this weekend was not good; the cake was dry and stale, and the icing was extremely sweet. this cake looked just like our previous cake, but the quality completely disappeared. the person behind the counter was however very helpful and polite. unfortunately I will buy for a new bakery.
They do not defy the type of European bakery I am also used. I should have known that this place would not be great of the girl who worked there had holes over her hemd....but I'm buying what I usually get from other bakers like this. that was by no means good, none of it tasted fresh, and they overestimated their food! I do not recommend this place. I will continue to stellas bakery in rockville, md. where their discs are reasonable and a more fresh one. the picture below where I tried a piece of everyone and didn't like it...10 buck wasted!
Baked goods must be at least a MONTH OLD. This is the second time in the last few months that I have tried cookies from this bakery. They were awful, horrible, disgusting! They must have been in the display case for at least a week..if not much longer! I will NEVER go there again!!!!!!!!
