They offered me samples of both the regular and spicy barbecue sauces, and I found both to be quite tasty, though I would have liked a slightly thicker consistency. The potato salad, made with red potatoes, appeared to be homemade and was very enjoyable. As for the mac and cheese, it tasted remarkably similar to Stouffer's. I'm not saying this to criticize the restaurant, but that particular mac and cheese has a distinct flavor and texture that was spot on. I would definitely recommend Texas West BBQ and will be returning for more in the future. I regret not taking a picture of my meal; otherwise, I would have shared it!

I nearly always order the tri-tip, and it's outstanding. The sides are fantastic as well, especially the delicious fries and what might be the best mac and cheese in town.

This is the best BBQ we've experienced in Sacramento. The meat is tender and bursting with flavor! The portion sizes are generous; while it can be a bit on the expensive side, they offer a kids-eat-free deal with every adult entrée, which is a great help. The customer service is consistently excellent!
