Contribuir a la retroalimentaciónLovely reviews I see, so we decided to give it a try. I am a bit spoiled for having travelled extensively in Japan, so my review may be a little biased. Granted, I am a purist when it comes to sushi, so the mexican touches on the rolls where not to myliking. If I concentrate solely on freshness and quality, there are good points and low points. The Ikura was not great, verysmall, and bland. The fatty salmon on the other hand was great, as was the locally sourced Uni. The specialty rolls, whereabsolutely not special at all. One of them had the top layer of fish completely smushed and dry. The scallop roll was like avery small taco. The fried crab ?specialty? roll was just weird, and thinly sliced, which made it a challenge to pick up. Thequality/prep of the rice was off. Also, the orders where one by one, meaning on ikura order for example is just one piece. I?mpretty sure there is a rule against that. Overall I feel that the chefs are amateurs in over their heads, and do not respect theartistry and culture established by the sushi gods. An experience not to be repeated for me.
Wow, we came here for dinner tonight for our 1 year wedding anniversary and what a wonderful experience it was. The atmosphere was lovely and the food was out of control. Our server, Thomas, was so attentive and totally on board when we asked him and thechefs to pick our nigiri for us. We were deeply impressed with his service and had such a fun time chatting with him. Themanager came and checked on us multiple times and clearly cared about the restaurant the customers experience. Everyone wentabove and beyond to make our night a special one and we will be raving about this place to all our family and friends! Thesushi was probably the best we have had. The hamachi and salmon special appetizer was incredible, the uni so unbelievably fresh, and we were so delighted by the red bean and black sesame ice cream to top off the meal. We truly don?t have enough good thingsto say about this place.
The food itself was very creatiw and tasty, except the roll that was very average. the wait staff helpful and timely. the big but here is the price $200! for two people who don't eat much and the loud rough 80s music that made the conversation hard. will not be back.
It was fantastic! we arrived as a party of 6 to celebrate my friend's birthday. I've been zöliakie, so I've met my usual arrangements to talk to the waitress. she was extremely knowledgeable and helpful in answering my questions. there is only one menu item that has gluten, and everything else is gluten-free! the friteuse is completely gluten-free, their soy sauce is made in the house and it is gluten-free, everything else is gluten-free. I even asked our server for a random hand role “Surprise me” and she made sure that I didn’t have any other food allergies or restrictions. all that was a surprise for me. I wasn't sick to eat here. I will definitely be back, and will make recommendations to all gluten-free communities that I am a part of. eating is incredible and it's easy to see why this place is popular. they even surprised my friend with ice cream for her birthday, which was so sweet of them. I'll be in san diego for the next time.
They don't get the lobster in the misu suppe. they throw the spiny lobster shreds inside and load $4 for it.
