John's Of Willow Glen - San Jose

For the price of the food, can't say we were impressed. Two meals were ordered to-go for dinner; chicken parm plate and steak plate. The chicken parm and sauce lacked flavor and the meat itself was somewhat tough. Didn't really enjoy it. Portion of the side was also on the small side. The steak plate was not much better, the side portion was also small. The staff were very nice though, but it doesn't save the food.

We had omlettes this morning. Sad to resort that they were dry. We like it here so we will keep it to lunch and dinner

Very chill atmosphere, big portions, great value entrees, full service bar, very attentive and happy service. Food is good (Willow Glen Burger was humongous and cooked to order, turkey melt insides were thick and bursting out the seams) and cocktails were okay (old fashioned overly sweet/watered down, mimosa was a fully filled large wine glass). I wouldn't say the meal was elevated as the surrounding modern craft eateries, but there's no reason to complain. Dog-friendly outdoor tables, lots of screens at the bar to watch sports, indoor dining that's separate enough to enjoy the company, lots of free parking across the street at BofA... We can see why this is a WG staple and go-to spot.
