La Choza De Joel - San Jose

Generalmente recibimos la entrega pero esta vez fuimos en persona y la comida era tan buena. Los ingredientes realmente frescos y las cervezas estaban helados. Tienen un montón de fans adentro para mantenerse fresco bajo también. La hamburguesa con queso es deliciosa y fresca. Patacones (frescamente hechos) son gruñón y crujientes. Nos encanta el ceviche, y las camarones con arroz (rice y gambas) también es genial. Lugar muy casual para pasar el rato y tomar una comida y algunas bebidas.

Un buen lugar, definitivamente un lugar familiar. Hay un bar, tenía una cerveza fría, pero está separado del comedor, una buena característica. El servicio es muy bueno.

My wife and I went to this restaurant on the recommendation of our Airbnb host. With the help of Waze we were able to locate the restaurant easily. At the side of the building is free parking For a variety of reasons this is not a place that I would typically go to As a person who has lived in Canada all my life, my tendency is to frequent known franchises and establishments Choso de Joel is a family run restaurant bordering on a residential neighborhood. It is not my typical restaurant Having said that, had I gone to my typical restaurant, I would have missed an incredible dining experience I had the casado con pes. (fish) I could not believe how good this dish was so much so that I returned the next day to have more. The waitress was so nice When I told her how good the food was she did me the honour of introducing her family to me (who also work there) If you are North American do yourself a favour and take a chance on this place. The food is delicious and cheap: the staff so friendly. I have been in Costa Rica visiting for a month and have been to some pretty good restaurants, choso de Joel is the best I've had.

Best pork belly rice and beans “chifrijo” and if you order the full portion instead of the half photo below is half get ready for a feast! The fried plantainas and Guac, yum! Fish ceviche is freshly made! Shrimp rice is garlicky and delicious! BEST part is the prices! Great service and overall food so far hasn’t let me down ever!
