Baia Di Vino - Sandringham (VIC)

Been here twice now. Amazing food. Amazing service. I will certainly be coming back again and again! Lovely food. Great wine list. Amazing cocktails.

The night I visited there were more staff than customers, But other times I have driven past at 10pm on a weeknight and the place is still pumping. Winter is here, and particularly this year its a dangerous time for restaurants imagine a constant struggle of not enough customers or skilled staff.Was served by professional floor staff with just enough international accent for me to know it's going to be a legit Italian dining experience, Ohh and these guys have a number of investors including links to sette bello -the only place in the suburbs I know that astonishingly is frequently fully booked on a monday night, I go there often, and it seems baia di vino is the offering to locals this side of the town, but without so much shirt and ties.The beetroot pasta seemed the standout starter to order, its a bit cheeky how it was served, and at first I liked the theater of it because in the dim lighting I wasn't sure if I was eating pasta sheet or thin sliced beetroot to replicate pasta, the butter and the nuts were also perfectly skinned.Moving on to mains, the steak was nice but I want something more on the plate, the puree was cold straight from the squeezie bottle. It wasn't suggested I order sides to go with the steak, but then it pushes the meal towards $50 something I don't need to it.Risotto was quite tasty but didn't seem to include any exotic mushrooms inside, rice was cooked to perfection and it was served a bit higher rather than flat on the plate.The wine was great but I don't remember what it was.All in all Its a good place for real food and service.

Firstly, the service was spot on, our waitress was super attentive and it’s definitely great to have a great dining restaurant in the local bayside area. Food was great and the selection of wine and beers are delicious. I will be coming back to eat the other dishes. Order the mille feuille, light and not overly sweet that it’s great to finish off with a wine or a coffee.
