If they get a fruit smoothe, they should surely say that they don't want yogurt, they want soy milk, etc.
Not certain why this is on Happy Cow. Went there looking for coffee with soy and vegan bagel. NO SUCH THING! Had to have black coffee and an overpriced fruit platter.
I'm vegan, and the Sanibel Bean was really the only place on the island I could get something other than salad. The staff was really accommodating and I was able to order the veggie paninis without cheese or pesto and subbed in basil and olive oil instead. They have soy milk for fruit smoothies, and the hummus and tabbouleh platter is also great. Definitely the best option for veg on the island!
I got coffee and had to ask for soy because it wasn't obvious from the menu this was an option. Bagels seem to be their key breakfast item with lots of yummy add ons. My husband got their steel cut oatmeal and was happy big oats with brown sugar and banana and can be made vegan. The pastries didn't look at appetizing. But the bagels did.
Today we visited Sanibal Island. We come here more often and were shoked to see at the Happy Cow reviews that they didn't had options for vegans anymore. But I can tell you that THEY DO SERVE SOY MILK and have some vegan bars. It is a small nice place owned by family. For a good cup of coffee vegans has to made a stop at this place. Or before you go canoe/kayak at [hidden link] (owned by a very nice vegan woman and great husband who really care about the environment)
