Definitely a good place for Indian food. Good service. Not a long walk from the beach. Great outdoor seating.
We absolutely loved Apna Indian Kitchen. We visited Santa Barbara on Christmas and all places were closed except Apna Indian Kitchen. We saw that they had 4.7 stars in Google reviews and they were all worth something. We loved it so much that we went to dinner the next day! It is family owned and one of the family members is the chef. They always live faithful to quality according to their motto. We ordered Malai Kofta, Yellow Dal, Indian Latke, Masala Chana, Punjabi Fish Fry and Garlic Naan. Indian Latke (aloo chat , Punjabi Fish Fry, and Malai Kofta were excellent! Compared to those the Dal and Chana seemed average (they were still good, but we were spoiled by the starters! The free Chai was a nice addition!
Excellent food. The free tea was excellent, the best I ever had in the USA. I have tried many restaurants in the USA from East-West Coast, but this is one of my favorites. I went to this restaurant twice. I loved her Nirvana Paneer, tea, rice. Try when you're in town!
Just spent a nice weekend in Santa Barbara. Being out for Christmas on a rainy day was an experience to remember. Most places are closed and rest are over crowded. We went to 3 places before we found Apna Indian Kitchen open. It is centrally located in downtown Santa Barbara. They have cooler with large choice of beer and wines. We had to wait but we saw staff work fast and hard to take care of the customers. Despite pressure they were courtious and got us hot food that we all loved. We will go back again.
