Hot chocolate, latte, chocolate cake and scone cost £10.35 total waste of money. Had to leave the cake and scone half eaten, distrusting
We popped in just for a pot and tea and a quick bite I had the quiche must say it was enormous and one of the best I've had, my husband had the ploughman's large piece of pork pie and taste was good served with a nice salad . When we ordered we thought we would have a jam and cream scones as well I had to bring mine home as the meal was very generous.. certainly will go again very friendly Paul made us most welcome..
Best scrambled eggs ever had. Perfect setting and easy access. Lovely view of Whitby and great staff
Previous visits were very good, however latest visit was very disappointing. The ‘view’ of the Abbey and Harbour are no longer a feature as the hedge alongside the cafe is now so overgrown that no views are possible, the only view now consists of stack upon stack of bags of compost! Not a pretty view. The window sills were covered in dead flies.. Additionally the food was way below usual quality, salad was very poor and Scampi and chips also bad tasteless scampi and mediocre chips. Really sad as I used to make a special journey to Whitby just to go here.
Have visited this cafe/restaurant many times in the past before lockdown and was always very pleased with visit, made a point of going their Wednesday 21st July 2021 to be not only thoroughly disappointed with all the dead flies al over the floor, food in the crevices of the chairs and all sorts of food and packets on the floor. The food was very poor quality now, chips had been reheated, salad was very stale and not at all pleasant, all in all disgusted especially in this environment that we now live in. Would need a lot of persuading to return
