Papas Fish Chips Takeaway - Shepway

I ordered a mini cod and chips costing £8.00!! I've previously had what they name their Specials and all I got was some overcooked batter and half a dozen chips which weren't great so I opted for the slightly bigger portion but what a massive price increase! I waited over 40 minutes for the order, the staff were serving people who came after myself with similar orders and they were extremely disorganised! When I got my order the fish was absolutely the worst I've seen and tasted, it was literally greasy burned batter and black skin at the bottom and the tiny bit of fish was as dry as a bone!! The child looked dry and tasted ok but still left a burned after taste as they're definitely using cheap and nasty old burned fat that's not been cleaned for ages!! An utter disgrace and I walked all the way back and told the chef this and he just grimaced at me and said ok and looked away again to cook his next orders ! This place needs to be checked out for cheap and over used old cooking fat and clamping down on as they're not bothered about any constructive criticism from the customers whatsoever!!

Gone down hill recently, it was one of the best and sadly i won't be going back there,,,,,,oil dripping off the over cooked batter portion size was meant to be medium paid enough for it but it was actually small and not the first time this has happened and very over priced for what i got

This was the worst dining experience I have ever had! I have never encountered any issues before today but it seems like there is new management in place now using cheaper ingredients. The food was all terrible - the chips were greasy, the fish bites were mostly batter, and the new Greek chicken skewers were a waste of money. The burgers were like eating cardboard. I spent over £40 on delivery and I regret it greatly. When I called to ask for extra tartar sauce with my order, I was promised it would be added but it was missing when I received the food. The person I spoke to on the phone was rude and tried to blame his staff. The management did not take responsibility and instead shifted the blame. If the person I spoke to had been more polite, I wouldn't feel the need to leave this negative review. I will never use Canterbury Road Papa's Chip Shop again. Stay away at all costs!

Orderd 1 large cod 1 medium plaice 1 large chips curry sauce and mushy peas both bits of fish were literally all batter a tenner per bit of fish for that rubbish ! Absolutely disgraceful too charge that amount for fish won’t be going there again !

I was disappointed with this restaurant as they lied about having a Greek menu. The souvlaki came with a thin, unappetizing wrap instead of the traditional Greek pita. I will not be ordering from them again. The Greek food stand on the harbor arm is much better, as they also serve authentic Greek pitas.
