We had a nice walk and then the safari at Port Lympne. This was followed by afternoon tea in the mansion hotel. The service was friendly and efficient. The food itself was all very nice, plenty of tea refills too. Personally I would prefer more savoury but it was a very enjoyable afternoon in a lovely building. Will definitely return.
My husband and I visited this restaurant for afternoon tea to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Unfortunately, we were not impressed with our experience. When we arrived, the hostess seemed preoccupied with chatting with her coworkers and it took her a while to acknowledge us. Once seated in a beautiful room with elegant crockery, we ordered a pot of tea and some water. The sandwiches and pastries were served, and while they looked appealing, we noticed a lady's coat had fallen off her chair and the waitress seemed to ignore it. The food was decent overall, with some standout items like a delicious sausage roll, but the sandwiches were ordinary and the scones were dry. At £45 per person, we felt the price was too high for the quality of food and service we received. Additionally, the presentation of the pastries, particularly the chocolate tart, was disappointing as it was squashed into a small plastic cup with a lid. We were left feeling underwhelmed and unlikely to return.
My wife and I recently had a disappointing cream tea experience at a restaurant. Despite arriving early as instructed, we were told to wait. Eventually, we were served very small portions of sandwiches, a tiny salmon tart, a small sausage roll, and dry scones. The only decent thing was the small cakes. The service was also lackluster, with the servers appearing indifferent. The high price we paid for this subpar experience was not worth it. Overall, we were disappointed with the restaurant's snobbish attitude and lack of respect for customers. It was a very poor experience that did not live up to our expectations.
The service at this restaurant was extremely slow. After waiting thirty minutes, we had only received tea and no food. When we inquired about the delay, we were informed that the dining experience was expected to last around two hours, despite being told otherwise when we initially arrived. When the food did eventually arrive, it was very disappointing in both quantity and quality. We were not the only ones who felt this way. Luckily, we did not have to pay for the tea as it was a Christmas gift. Overall, I would not recommend or revisit this restaurant.
