The food was well prepared and super tasty. The staff works hard so service might be a bit slow by American standards; have another glass of wine and enjoy the experience the way the Italians would. The T-bone is huge so come hungry! Try the local Lagrein wine; it's a perfect pairing. The atmosphere is great for friends, couples and families.
Most people by-pass this restaurant because it is hidden from the main road, it is attached to a small (nice) B&B and looks unassuming. I go there off season or when they fire up the barbecue on warm summer nights and always enjoy it. As you enter, you are in the breakfast/bar section and you can have a meal right there. If you want a nicer atmosphere, ask to be seated in the back room, a newly renovated section that is quite welcoming. Reservations on week-ends. In the summer, you can eat outside on the terrace, with views of the mountains and the river providing a wonderful background. They offer all the mountain staples, of the highest quality, year round. Today I had a cheese and cured meat board as a starter and home made tagliatelle with mushrooms. My friend had the spatzle with spek and cream which were excellent. I have had their specialty in the past, which is a beef tagliata with porcini mushrooms. Outstanding. Pre-order this one when you make reservations. In the summer and on week-ends, they light the wood fired barbecue and they serve all kinds of grilled meats. If you favour your meat other than nuked, in the italian fashion, make sure to ask and explain the temperature you prefer. Wine list is limited, as it often is in this type of restaurant. Service is very friendly and courteous, family restaurant style. Excellent quality/price ratio. Recommended.
