Three of us, plus a small dog, held here twice in 4 days and enjoyed excellent pizzas in an interesting and welcoming environment. both visited a rainy day! a lot of space outside, if it ever stops raining. drink something expensive, but worth a visit.
We waited 45 minutes for a pizza, which was the special of the day. When it finally arrived, we found that one side of the pizza base was raw. We wondered how long it takes to prepare and cook a pizza. The portion size was small and there was hardly any topping. Additionally, we had to remind the staff about our order of Garlic Bread, which came late. The prices of beer and wine were higher than expected. The service was chaotic and poor, but we were offered a full refund if we complained. It seems unlikely that this business will survive based on our experience. Other patrons also mentioned they would not return, but were hesitant to voice their complaints.
We had a great evening at The Byre Inn. The host was excellent, and the beer and pizza were both very good. The playlist was also enjoyable.
Shouldn't have bothered. Checked on the website and saw thst it was open. When we got there at 1 o'clock there was a message written on a glass pane in the door saying open at 4.37'. This seems to reflect the sense of humour' and...general lack of interest displayed by the management when we have visited in the past and we are unlikely to try again. Such a shame and an opportunity missed to provide a welcome break for hungry walkers and families visiting such a lovely part of the world.
