It's a little pricey for me, but a nice place to eat a few times a year. We made our reservations for 8:15 on a Saturday night so we could avoid having to wait to be seated. But if we had to wait (as we have in the past), we had a glass of wine outside until our table was ready. We were welcomed at the door as if we were family and taken to our table for four. Normally Beto is at the door, but not this evening. So this time we were able to have our wives actually pay attention to us instead of him the whole night. The only complaint I have about the entire dining experience was the fact that the focaccia bread at the table was burned on the bottom. That is it. The rest of our food and service was great. We always had a drink (scotch, martini, wine or soda), and the food all came out at the perfect time. One of the ladies ordered a fish (I believe it was Grouper) in a lemon sauce that was a perfect combination of rich flavor and light consistency. Very nice. The other ordered the Canelloni alla Rossini. She liked it even though it was probably the weakest plate we ordered. The guys ordered the Black Linguine with Shrimp in Lobster Sauce. This was amazing. It was like eating velvet topped with a generous portion nice-size shrimp. We have had this dish before, and it is so good that it makes it impossible for me to try a different main dish. We also ordered the Fettuccini alla Matriciana for the table. This was a really rich plate with lots of pancetta and sweet onions. Very nice. We closed it out with the Ricotta Cheesecake, Cappuccinos and Grappa. A perfect ending to our dining experience. All in all, we had a great night out with good friends at a place where the service was friendly, the food was top notch and the atmosphere was great. I highly recommend this restaurant for anything from a first date to a night out with friends or any type of small celebration with family or business acquaintances. Buon appetito!
Cafe Ragazzi is a local restaurant with a wide appeal. The food is wonderful, the restaurant is usually bustling, and the wait staff is always friendly and helpful. It's a terrific date place.
We visited Ragazzi based upon other reviews. The experience couldn’t be more disappointing. Chicken parmiggiana tasted like rubbery re-heated piece of breaded chicken with cheese melted on it in a greasy tomato sauce with no flavor at all. Very dry and tough. My wife's pasta was also horrible with little sauce and even less taste. Both items ordered from their daily special items. A quaint place in a potentially good location, but not recommended and staff needs to learn English and manners. Dinner was shockingly overpriced. Very embarrassing and disgustingly over-rated.
This family run restaurant has been a favorite of ours for years. It recently expanded but did not lose any of its charm. The food is great excellent specials and the staff very friendly and professional. The ingredients used are of very high quality and everything is very fresh. We love the fresh tomato, garlic and olive oil they provide with their fresh bread when you sit down. Metered parking is never a problem and while on Fridays and Saturdays there can be a line, it is well worth the wait.
My wife and I started an early dinner and were surprised how fast it filled up. we had a special crab ravioli, in a lobster sauce and garnel, as well as a grouper with carrots and brokkoli. both dishes were carefully prepared and were more than enough to eat yourself!
