1901 Chop Haus - Traer

Wow, just had chicken dinners. I am 78 and this was the BEST ever restaurant chicken dinner. Photo is whats left . Mash potatoes and corn , this is Iowa. Reasonable, cold beers, great location and interior. Don't screw up and miss it!

This place has amazing food like all of its amazing!!!! Definitely recommend. They have such a cool atmosphere and great staff. For a small town they are doing great. If you haven't been there yet I suggest you do.

I always try to stop here when traveling in the area. A terrific chop house ambiance worthy of any big city, but still small town friendly and inviting. Better beer selection than most restaurants in towns this size, and everything I 've ever had on the menu is very good. An excellent and surprising stop that I highly recommend.

Excellent wait staff let us choose our table when we arrived. Sat by the window and ordered the special of the day; pork patty sandwich with fries. Boy, were the fries yummy! All the other items were fresh and delicious. Also, had the shrimp salad with the house bacon dressing, which was the perfect taste of sweet and tart. All together a great experience!

Came in as soon as they opened wanting a steak! Hubby and I were told they don't serve steak until dinner time which was 6 hours away! Wth! It's a steakhouse! Should be able to get it no matter what time!!! That's the whole reason we came. Wish they would have written that on their website because we would have came back later. So instead we stayed and tried lunch. Had two sandwiches which were mediocre at best. I could have made better ones. Only reason I'm giving 3 stars is because their cheese curd app was awesome. Some of the best I've ever had.
