We arrived just prior to the supper rush on a Friday night and decided to order 4 tapas. Not being very knowledgeable on the numerous & various beers, We read the description of their tastes and traits and overall we were both pleased with our selections. First out were the Prawns and Edamame beans. The Prawns were not over cooked and tasted amazing in the sauce. We quickly took up on the waitress suggestion and accepted bread to dip with. The beans were warm, tender and with a hint of salt. The last two dishes out were the lentil stew and the tuna. I would have taken pics of them as well but the tuna looked to inviting to resist. It was seared just right with a beautiful seasoned crust. The lentil stew was very flavourful and seasoned. The food was excellent and above average for what you would get at a pub. Parking is plentiful, although it is metered. Definitely worth keeping in the back of our mind for future visits into Vancouver.
Biercraft is a great neighbourhood hangout -- full of a gazillion kinds of European beers with a really nice sidewalk patio and great ambiance inside as well. What keeps me coming back, though, is the homemade veggie burgers. They are super tasty, huge and perfectly crispy around the outside. They come with a fantastic whole pickle and can be accompanied by half-and-half sides fresh garden salad and fries.
We went here on the recommendation of someone who lives in the neighborhood and are glad we did. The service was excellent and the food was nicely prepared and presented. We especially enjoyed the lamb. The ribs were just right. Try to save room for dessert.
I went there at 3:00 in the afternoon with my Wife and Daughter who had earlier in the day run the BMO marathon so we were all quite hungry, it was a Sunday and brunch was still available so we chose from that menu, I had the omelette with hash browns and a side salad, my Wife had the pulled pork sandwich with fries and my Daughter had the Biercraft burger with extra mushrooms and fries. My omelette was light and fluffy and the salad was almost exclusively lettuce with one small tomato and a slice of cucumber, definitely room for improvement there, the hash browns were a disaster. they were small potatoes cut in half or a third and were like small rocks or pebbles, most were so hard they could not be penetrated with a fork. My Wife said her pulled pork sandwich was delicious and my Daughter loved her burger but both agreed that the fries were terrible, definitely out of a packet and fried in oil that was either too hot or was well past it's use before date because the fries were like hard sticks, closer to a pretzel than a French fry. The service was good and the total bill was $45.68 before a tip.
Great beer, great selection of cold drafts. The chicken wings are good as are the poutine. Staff are pleasant and professional. Decent value for money. Cool uptown, after work crowd. Nice!
