Simply good, honest homemade traditional Austrian cuisine.. came back twice to this place. the waiter has a spectacular sense of humor that should not be misinterpreted for arrogance or attitude. he made my day absolutely! A shot of liquor is a must at the end of the meal. even 11 a.m. before the airport; will definitely come back!
Went in as it was on the way back to our Hotel and it looked interesting. Bad move , got through the door to be asked by the Gruff Barman if we were eating or Drinking. I replied we wanted drinks and didn't know about...food , only to be told Drink inside , eating outside. Now bearing in mind it's currently 27° C we weren't too impressed. The Barman then stated he didn't understand us as he didn't speak English. Or my German......so we left, walked over the road to a warm welcome and Great Food and Beer , sorted wouldn't go back at all, not even for a Beer.
I stopped here for dinner because it’s very nearby my Josefshof am Rathaus hotel. Less than a 5 minute walk, which on a very warm day, was appreciated. I seated myself at an outdoor table after joking about the “Reserviert” placard on all the tables...by saying “reserved for me!” Loudly and in German. All the locals had a good laugh and the proprietor brought me the Speisekarte (menu) in German. But several fellows at nearby tables all shouted out “Goulasch!” So I had the Austrian style beef goulash and glass of wine. Good food and a friendly, companionable group of characters—all locals and restaurant regulars. Enjoyable experience.
Unbelievable food and very good attention, I really enjoy food. Was homemade, really typical and delicious. Full of locals. It was to understand culture through food. I order the carving and potato salad. The crowd was so big.
