The Blasian Asian - Waco

I had the Garlic Fried Rice this evening. The menu stated to chose 0-5 on spice scale. I requested 0 stating I wanted flavor but didn't want spicy at all. It was literally awful. I couldn't decide if it was overly salted or overly garlic and maybe it was both, but whatever, it was terrible. I know I should have returned the whole plate but I didn't want to drive all the way back there. I just felt I should warn other people and gosh I wish I had gotten my money back because it was totally inedible.

This place has really good garlic fried rice and the pot stickers are amazing. I haven’t been in some months. I visited last week and unfortunately my whole family was sick the next day. I may be willing to give this place another chance. But not anytime soon.

This was one of the worst experiences I’ve had at Union Hall! I ordered at 7:20, and I received my food (the Combo X) at 7:47. Meanwhile, people who ordered after me received their food in 7-8 minutes max. The staff did not seem to care, and even forgot to add the egg rolls that I ordered to my plate. When I went back to get them, they said “my b bro.” I acknowledge that Union Hall can get busy at times, but the overall experience here was sad compared to my experience with the other vendors. Service was fine. We arrived before the dinner rush. Ambiance was nice. The restaurant felt clean. The low rating is because the bok choy and beef and garlic fried rice we ordered was so salty we could barely eat it. I even mixed 1/2 of the plain rice from the bok choy dish into the fried rice to dilute the salty fried rice. We were really disappointed as we were looking forward to eating some tasty Asian food. It seemed like the main flavoring was the overuse of soy sauce. As a person of Japanese ethnicity, I know the taste of soy sauce and it should be used sparingly.

I highly recommend the Blasian Asian in Waco! I stumbled upon this restaurant on Yelp during my work trip and it was a great find. The Pad Thai with chicken was absolutely delicious. The service was fast, even though there were only a few people in the restaurant. The ambiance was cozy and inviting. So glad I found this place!
