TENNESSEE RIVERS LAKES AND WATERFALLS SEARCH For Them ALL
Buffalo Ridge Refuge is a wonderful wildlife conservation area. To my knowledge, only three deer hunts occur here annually, one for Wounded Warriors, one for youth, and a ladies hunt. Contact TWRA for more information on the hunts and available lodging in the area. The facilities are nice and include a dining hall, a bath house, and a skinning shed complete with a walk in cooler for hanging deer. Most of the deer stands are enclosed. A few are on the ground, others are five feet or ten feet above the ground. They also have a rifle range with targets out to a mile.
Had a blast on our dove hunt. Great place to spend some time.
There's not really anywhere to hike or park. No trespassing signs are everywhere. I drove on to the wildlife Refuge event center to ask about the trespassing signs. The officer there said to park on the road and I could walk anywhere but beware of snakes because they were bad. He also said some rangers live in the house with the no trespassing signs there in the Refuge. I drove back to the wildlife management area and parked on the gravel road like I was told. My dog and I stayed on the road for our safety because we saw 2 snakes from the bridge. The bridge also seems to be in need of repair at the northern end where some crumbling is apparent.
