Lascari's - Whittier

Second time I have visited 19seventy and it was a great experience again as usual! Lucia made us some delicious cocktails and the desert was fantastic! Especially the whisky sour with the Angels Envy rye whisky was the bomb.

Amazing food! Delicious drinks! We enjoyed our night here. It is a fine dining experience with great service. The drink I had was the Melontini, I was skeptical of the egg white in the drink but honestly didn't taste the egg white. That was just for the froth. It was super delicious; I ordered 2. Will be coming back for sure!

We have seen this restaurant every time we would drive by and it was on our list of places to try. The drunken clams were a great starter, it had a savory sauce with the clams. Everyone at the table said it was one of the best we have had. For the main course we ordered for the table the baked rigatoni and the short rib pappadelle. It was even better than the clams. Finally the server, Brandy was very attentive and great.

I first moved out to Whittier in 2003. Soon after, I tried Lascari's when I needed a place to cater our monthly poker nights. It wasn't my favorite Italian place, but the food was good, and the price was more than fair for the amount of food you get. We continue to use Lascari's for poker night to this day. Btw, the Fettuccine Alfredo is some of the best there is. It was for this reason that I was intrigued about the Whittier Blvd. Lascari's transformation into 19seventy. I knew they wanted to go upscale and was hoping they would pull it off. In my opinion, they hit a home run. 19seventy is now one of my favorite restaurants in Whittier. I only give it four stars because I want to go back and try more things. I took my wife for Mother's Day and they were passing out glasses of champagne or Prosecco as we walked in. Not sure if they do this all the time, but it was nice. We had a reservation and were seated immediately. The service was wonderful. From the hostesses, the wait staff and even manager, they were all friendly, attentive and informative without feeling pressured to finish our meal at a. In fact, the manager was very clear that this isn't Lascari's. The cocktails are IT. I had the clear Negroni- the best Negroni I ever had, and my wife a special Mother's Day Tini that was dangerous good. We started with the drunken clams and the heirloom bruschetta- both excellent. Even if you don't like clams, these were out of this world. Served with Italian sausage, put it on some bread, a glass of wine and your evening can't get better. We also tried the Tik Tok famous cheese wheel short rib pasta. It's served for two and I believe 75 bucks. I was worried it was all show, but the show was good and so was the pasta. The portion was hefty as well. We actually should've stopped there because we were stuffed but we did order desert. Unfortunately, the cheesecake was the only thing I didn't love. I don't think they make it there, but I would try something else if you want dessert. I look forward to returning to 19seventy. I want to try so many other things. My wife and I have been looking for a date spot for awhile now and we may have found it. It's also nice to have an upscale restaurant just a few blocks away.
