You want to make your Indian Cuisine experience more exciting than do it the way we did last time we had it. I know Indian cuisine is already as exciting as it can but you can bump up that excitement even more, with the spices and complex flavours in this cuisine what more can you ask for? Well the last time I had lunch with my team in the office was in this restaurant in K’Road, since we all love our spicy food we decided to splurge on a Indian restaurant and try out all sorts of dishes the some of us haven’t tried. Their dishes vary in spiciness but one of us had this great idea of asking the waiter to make one of the dishes ultra-spicy so that our tongues would burn, they complied and the result was this fun experience.
There are not as many Southern Indian restaurants in Auckland, so my husband and I were overjoyed to have discovered Satya!<br/ <br/ I loved the interior decor bright and cheerful, looked like an Indian palace, which really set the mood!<br/ <br/ The curries were not exactly cheap (as you had to pay extra for rice . However, it was delicious and full with spices, and the serving size was decent with huge chunks of meat : <br/ <br/ The best part however were definitely their parathas, which are these buttery flaky breads. We ordered the cheese one, and it was absolutely beautiful and cheesy. The texture was amazing and completely different to naan breads! Would recommend giving these a try for sure :
Beautifully flavoured food. Was made to my order (being very mild can’t handle spice which is normally quite difficult at an Indian restaurant) and really enjoyed it
Ambience and customer service:<br/ At first glance, the place looks over the top decorated. The fact that they’re using yellow lights with the brick look inside, does not go well together most of the times. To top it off, the decorations with drapes on top and and the sides of the inside makes it look like more of a decorated dungeon than an Indian restaurant. The saying that “more is less or vice versa”, definitely doesn’t apply. <br/ I have to give credit to the 2 people who took our order because they tried their best to look cheerful. Soon, the guy became more open and nicer to talk to; which I think was very lovely. He came and checked up on our meal which is a very sweet gesture. <br/ <br/ Food:<br/ They just wowed me with entrees. So much South Indian flavour and gestures. Every bite was a hit of new flavour. Even the hand made drinks were so nice. You just wanna gulp down all at once. Our mains one word REMARKABLE!!! I didn’t think I could find a restaurant that had all Indian flavours here in Auckland. Everything was so nice and very filling. I am definitely coming here again and again and again.... <br/ <br/ Pricing:<br/ Very generously priced and the price of the food matched the quality of it. <br/ <br/ Conclusion:<br/ I think the place deserves a bit more deserved publicity as it clearly is one of the best South Indian restaurants in Auckland and it has topped every other restaurant that I’ve tried. <br/ I also think the venue itself needs quite a bit of do up maybe lighter colours, some music and less drapes. <br/ Overall I think the food was amazing and I will be coming back to satya again... very soon . <br/ <br/
