Contribuir a la retroalimentaciónI organised a vintage car rally last December for 30 people. This dinner was the highlight of our rally and I had high expectations. The food was creative and very personal. But it was of superb quality and definitely worth a Michelin Star. We loved the focus on local ingredients: the beef was outstanding, so was the foie gras with hydromel and our dessert, which was a local modern reinterpretation of a Mont Blanc dessert. I was a bit worried service would be slow as it started slowly but it went crescendo and proved to be super efficient. Fares are not cheap of course, but in my opinion were worth every penny. What to improve? the wine list has interesting local choices but is otherwise quite pricey and a bit too conventional .
We knew the place was really reknown and the grounds to die for. So we counted our blessings when we were able to secure a table for 4 four our 27th wedding anniversary. Three of us are vegetarian and it is sometimes pretty hard to find a place that caters for this diet in a grand way. Well, we were not disappointed. The food was delicious, the staff extremely helpful and caring, the 2017 red Chinon was marvellous and we had a fabulous time. I could not recommend more
We stayed there with a Groupon for 2 nights with our daughter. The service especially at check-in and the cleaning lady were super friendly and helpful. The breakfast was served outside on the terrace with view on the parc and the horses. Breakfast included diff. cold cuts, cheese, pasteries (delicious pain au chocolat and super yammie mini-croissants as well as cereals and eggs to boil at your liking. The last day they were out of bread with was a bit of a damper but not the end of the world. We also ate at the restaurant one night and it was ok. The portions were rather on the small side. Price-value was heavier on the price than the value. We ate at the Talleyrand in Bourbon where you got more bang for your buck. The room, Nr. 23 on 3rd floor, was a big room with a small bed (I think max. 140x200cm . We were under the roof, so it can get hot in summer, but they also have aircon. The bathroom was nice but the showerhead was of cheap quality, the fake chrome came off at parts and was not very nice to hold. My hubby got a glimpse of other rooms that seemed to be nicer, which led him to call our room the Groupon room ; We absolutely loved the fact that the hotel has its own horse stable. We rented a pony for an hour for our daughter to go for a walk.
An arrival by a deteriorated path; a friendly welcome; a menu on a digital tablet for the table and not nickel); A choice of menu and supplements like 15€ for a store in a menu at 63€; a little too recited service that cannot inform when you ask what comes to cover delicious zucchini): a sorbet of feta it seemed. In short, full of strengths side by side but without doing beautiful orchestra.
Many discoveries and treats for our palaces. Thanks for this gastronomy moment.
