Barton - York

This is a fantastic little fish and chip shop. We stumbled upon it by chance and will definitely be returning. The haddock and chips were delicious and the battered sausage was excellent. They were a bit cold, but that's to be expected. It's so convenient that it's just around the corner.

The fried calamari gave me a satisfying crunch that I absolutely loved, even though I'm not normally a fan of seafood. The fries were also excellent. I would rate this dish a perfect 10 out of 10.

This is the best fish and chip shop I have ever been to. I used to go almost twice a week, but now only once a month or so. When I deliver to Glenridding, I always stop by and have a chat with the friendly staff. The portion sizes are massive, just like you would expect from a Yorkshire chippy. The quality of the food at Butlers is top notch, and it's worth going out of my way to visit, no matter how close I am to my home. Highly recommend.

Best chip shop around, great personal, great eating and even breakfast.

I can't recommend Butler's enough. Great service and unbelievable value. Easily the best fish chips in York. A large bag of chips was enough to feed 3 adults. Will definitely return.
