Superb hot chocolate for a cold day, decent baking and some of the best chocolate made in Switzerland. Villars claim to be the only Swiss producer who do not adulterate their coco butter with cheaper fats. The shop carries the full range of their prepackaged bars at a slight discount to supermarket prices, a selection of heavily discounted items which may be nearing their sell-by dates or have obsolete packaging and a counter full of hand-made individual chocolates. Villars specialities include chocolate bars filled with absinthe or génépi and their cream-filled champagne corks. Their pretty decorated tins of chocolates make for popular gifts and souvenirs from Fribourg. Good coffee too.
