This is an Algerian couscous restaurant and their semule is much finer than the regular stuff you buy in supermarkets. Apparently with couscous can be refilled but we didn’t do that. Couscous comes with vegetables cooked stock as well as any meat you select. We got the “super” with mixed grilled meats. I would say the grilled lamb was the best of the items we tasted. Note that tagine doesn’t appear to come with anything in particular. Our lamb and date/almond was very generous, tender and delicious. Be extremely careful as the date seeds/pips look almost the same as the almonds. Our shakshuka was also delightful with sweet pepper flavour. The dessert is either very generic or french (ice creams etc) but you can open for a traditional pastry from the tray. The one we selected was a bit disappointing but I suspect we chose badly. I highly recommend also starting with a mint tea (it’s sweet) and is refreshing even on a warm night.

Nous avons passé un dîner très agréable en famille et y retournerons sûrement.

La chambre était d'une propreté comme celle d'une grand-mère maniaque noire que je connaissais auparavant. Je veux écrire aujourd'hui, parce qu'hier, jeudi 12/05/2022, j'ai mangé quelques couscous dans le quartier du Château Rouge de Paris, le niveau médiocre de cantine scolaire... Cette expérience malheureuse m'a rappelé cet excellent restaurant : Au Royal Couscous ! Vive au Royal Couscous !
