The reviews for La Cabriolle looked good at first glance and the first impressions of the restaurant were excellent. Indeed, the decoration was authentic and rustic with...antique wooden chairs and tables giving the place a nice feel. We were excited to have fondue! Unfortunately, this good initial impression started to change as we were served by a disinterested and disrespectful waiter, an older black lady. She did not smile nor greet us. She distributed the menus and promptly left, seemingly sitting at another table. When we hesitated while ordering, she left immediately...! We wondered if this particular lady lacked training in customer service (or even basic politeness ? Maybe the black lady benefited from some immunity During all this time, we were polite, patient and gave the benefit of the doubt. The other waiters were normal and seemed to compensate a little. In fact, we even asked for another fondue! However, the worst came to happen when the older black lady came back to extinguish the fondue burner's flame with my knife! She then proceeded to throw back the knife on the table in a casual way and left promptly. What just happened?? I looked at my friends with utter disbelief. When we confronted the lady, she said this was normal! Her argument was: We don't need a fork and knife for the fondue, therefore she could use the knife to extinguish the flame. Our argument was: A waiter shouldn't use a client's cutlery to do such a thing. Also, how does she know if I didn't wish to use the cutlery for fondue or to share the salad which we ordered? Plus, we didn't even mention how dangerous this could be (risk of burns). With her argument of you're not using it why not use the napkin hanging from her waist to wipe our mouths (we remain polite) since she wasn't using it! In the end, we canceled the extra fondue and asked for the bill. Again, the lady was incredibly disrespectful, unapologetic and continued arguing with us. She finally threw the bill (in a wooden box) on the table which hit the plates. Shocking and unacceptable behavior! Due to this totally dismal and shocking service, we left the restaurant without paying, the first time in our lives we have ever done such a thing. TL;DR: Unless you want to be disrespected and experience DISASTROUS service, don't go to this restaurant!

When it arrived it was flat as if the prosecco had been left open for ages. Water jug and glasses were all visibly dirty and the staff were unhappy when we asked for new ones. We had to go up to order most of the drinks ourselves as no one came near us while we were eating and they brought the sharing food down with no plates or napkins(again we had go up ourselves to ask for them). I've had lunch there before and food was good but brunch last Saturday not up to standard at all. Definitely wouldn't go again particularly with the excellent choices that are nearby.
