27.10.2024 - 06:57This place I have avoided for exactly two years because I kept thinking that i wasn't going to enjoy it. Why? Because the menu was really limited. 2 Wraps, 2 salads and 4 rice plates to choose from. And being me I always narrowed it down to the rice plates and thought that I would never be full by just eating one piece of chicken and some rice and so I avoided coming here. Well, it was a waste of missed opportunity and I completely understand now why this place has such great reviews. It's like Raising Cane's where they only do a few things, but they do it really well. I ordered the rice and chicken and it was just so delicious! Whenever you hear about a dish that has so much flavor, this is the kind of dish they're talking about. The rice was so flavorful and there's a lot of it. The one piece of chicken is grilled to perfection. You can taste the smokiness and it is seasoned extremely well. Since then, I've had the rice plate two more times and I always enjoy every bite. With that said, I still asked the first time if they had any secret baba ghanoush or hummus hiding in the kitchen. They don't (only fries), but I'll forgive this place because the main attraction is just that good.

03.07.2024 - 06:50This small restaurant was a lot better than I thought it would be. I was expecting nothing but extremely Americanized sushi such as the very tasty Between Josey Lane and Keller Springs roll or maybe even the intriguing Right next to Albertsons roll all smothered with 1/2 pound of cream cheese with each bite, but I was pleasantly surprised. Walking in, I instantly hear the karaoke machine playing cheesy, but peaceful soundtracks from what seems like old Asian films. The sushi bar area was pretty small with maybe only 5 seats and one guy was already there with his ipad out so I chose to sit a few seats down. I always like to watch the chef make the different items. I ordered the chirashi ju, which came with a 12 slices of sashimi on top of some delicious rice and some salty fish eggs. I also ordered my favorite side, seaweed salad. The meal did come with a miso soup and some pickled cucumbers. Pros: The rice for my chirashi ju was really awesome. Warm, a little sticky with just a little bit of some kind of dried pork (maybe) for added saltiness and flavor. The flavor for the seaweed salad was on point and at a price for only 4 bucks, it was worth it. Cons: I know the miso and the pickled cucumbers are free but that doesn 't give anyone an excuse for it to be anything less than perfect. If you were serving dinner rolls at a steakhouse or chips and salsa at a Tex-Mex restaurant, you 're still going to give a shout out whether it was good or not. To me, the miso wasn 't very good. It just tasted like old miso that 's been sitting out for bit too long. Same with the cucumbers; it just wasn 't pickled enough and they came out almost grey. It wasn 't sour at all and tasted like soggy cucumber slices. The seaweed salad came out almost frozen. I know they usually keep the seaweed refrigerated, but it kind of tasted like it came right out of the freezer. The main sashimi part of my meal was good, but it wasn 't as memorable as the rice. Overall, I would come here again for the cheap beer and sake and maybe try it for lunch. Plus, the toilet is pretty cool.

05.04.2024 - 03:18We really wanted to love this place because it was the only time we ate out during our week long trip to the area but found it to be really overpriced mediocre food. I get that it's a ski/resort town and so they rely a lot on tourists and such, but man, it hurt my heart to order two really average burgers (bacon cheddar and the Caliente burger) with the bill coming out to more than $30. My caliente burger barely had any jalapenos or jalapeno strips and overall lacked any kind of heat. Both burgers looked like they were pre-made patties and didn't taste fresh. The upsides are that the restaurant itself looks really nice and our server was friendly. But I don't know if we just had an off day but the burgers weren't worth getting.
