H had a craving for ramen. I had a craving for adventure. We went to a new place, called Jiro Sushi and Ramen:. Fatty pork, perfect eggs, and fresh fish. There could have been more broth in the tonkotsu ramen, but the noodles didn’t get soggy, and toppings were plentiful. There were snow peas included, something I haven’t seen before! The unagi in the bento box could have been thicker, but the flavors worked for me.

H and I have attended seven weddings in the span of 8 months this year. We started this season off in February for K&T, April for J&V, end of May for A&G, July for C&J, August for A&M, September for R&B (which we only attended half of anyways… , and finally, yesterday, for K&M. Congratulations to all the newly weds of 2017!

Two of these meals cost $15, INCLUDING TAX. You pay for what you get, but the food wasn’t disgusting, and everything was fairly clean, RECOMMEND FO SHO.

Life ain’t fair, and in a world like today’s, when it feels like the end of the world almost everyday, I’ll just do my best to enjoy what I can and help as many people enjoy their day as best I can. For example, I will go and eat some really great food. . C and I went to Heritage Asian Eatery a few weeks ago, and I came across these photos on my phone, which reminded me of how awesome that little shop was. One of these was the duck bowl and the other was the pork bowl:

After a brutal week, M, C&C took me to Arisu along North Road for some much needed food and drinks. This is one of the many Korean BBQ restaurants along the Burnaby and Coquitlam border, which has now become a high traffic area. Transit if you can... We had one of the BBQ combos, which came with a pile of meat, including pork belly and short rib:

I’d heard some good things about this place, but with the proximity, prevalence, and ease of hitting up a Chatime for their roasted milk tea, it is difficult to find a time to try other bubbletea places. This was that chance to try it. I had the milk tea with cream puff and pearls, and it was not bad. The cream puff is like a custard that sits at the bottom of the cup. The pearls were a good size and consistency, but Gong Cha (located across the street) had better pearls. I would come back for the cream puff and milk tea.

Above is the Zhajiang Pork with Cucumber on noodles, the lamb skewer, and the pork dumplings in sour soup. Honest opinion was that this place is not worth sitting down to eat at. Get the dumplings to go, and don’t bother trying to get comfortable in the cramped sitting area. It’s not even the servers that make this place hard to eat at, but it’s just the close quarters with strangers, who may or may not be rude (they were rude that night). I’ll give it a 4 for the food.

Pronounced “Elle Eh”, like Los Angeles, not “LA”, like “DO RE MI” or the French article... This chicken place is a hole in the wall that replaced a burnt down Dairy Queen a few years ago. I’ve had this chicken before, but mostly takeout at potluck dinner parties. This was my first time here!
