I knew some Manhattan residents who would come to this Queens neighborhood specifically for the authentic Indian food. I relocated to this area years ago, and have been coming to Red Hook Curry House for as long as I can remember. I have never, ever, had a bad meal here. In fact, I would choose to eat here over any Jackson Heights restaurant that I 've eaten at. The food is that good. Several years ago I ate here with a student visiting from New Delhi. He said it was the best Indian food he had eaten while in America. The decor hasn 't changed, and can use some updating. The baskets they served the Naan in were old and looked like it was time for them to be replaced. But the food is still top notch. Take out is always great, but the food is even better when you dine in, and have it brought to your table hot from the kitchen. Go for the food as opposed to anything else and you shouldn 't be disappointed if you like Indian food.
