13.09.2023 - 16:41Menu a little limited and the veg on one dish were over cooked. One desert not good, salted caramel. Service and ambience however excellent.

18.02.2023 - 04:03What a brilliant find on a cold February lunchtime. We weren’t sure if we were even in time for lunch (1.55pm) but we were immediately made welcome, easily found a table for two and were given menus. Drinks were ordered and brought to our table quickly. Devon Mist and Thatchers Gold on tap. The menu gave ample choice, from baguettes to starters of soup, whitebait and much more. Ten our so main course choices including a vegan lentil bake for those who would have that. We chose garlic mushrooms on toast (a half baguette type bread that worked really well), cheesy chips and for hubby pork belly on rosti with red cabbage. I definitely had food envy! He pronounced the pork “probably one of the best I’ve ever had”. My mushrooms were deliciously garlicky and creamy. The cheesy chips were wonderfully crunchy on the outside and lovely and soft on the inside. Portions were large. All of the service we received was friendly. The pub is in a nice situation on the estuary and we parked quite easily (out of season mind). I immediately spotted a good circular walk so I’m sure we will be back! Dog friendly too. I reckon half of the tables had a dog underneath! Highly recommended.

19.01.2023 - 21:53From the arrival to the departure the attention to our comfort and joy was unreliable. friendly barman, the excellent cocktails and very welcoming maitre d ', who overlooked the food service (and knew everything about the dishes 8 curs tasting menu, veggie and non-Veggie.) a hauch of tasteful, textures and beautifully presented dresses, each building on and contrasts beautifully with its predecessor. the aromen grew and surprised the palate at each row, but all tasted "as it should ". my high point was the red mullet in a 'nage' of rhabarb and lover oil, but nothing could be misled. a visit to the Sous cook, the Marschmallow-Lollipops at the table roasted and served a lot of chocolate fancies to enjoy the dining room. as well as the fine harbour that the maitre d' has suggested to finish the evening wonderful.

09.12.2022 - 20:49The food was absolutely delicious. The only disappointing thing was that as we arrived, the barman couldn't find our booking and tried to seat us in the bar, even though there were multiple tables free in the restaurant. Following this, it was half an hour before we were served our drinks. Having said that, the food and cocktails were faultless.

04.11.2022 - 16:49On our first weekend back from Barcelona, you would think that we'd go off in search of another cuisine other than Catalan or Spanish. But one Sunday morning, we wanted to go out for lunch at a place we hadn't tried before (ok, that was my requirement), a place where we could relax over a nice meal, a place that wasn't too far away from home. We planned on heading to Chiswick and I remembered The Duke of Sussex, a pub next door to Le Vacherin . Their menu was always dotted with Spanish dishes, triggering my interest every time I passed it. And now I'd have my chance to try it! We arrived at the pub just past noon that Sunday and it was a good thing too as we didn't have a booking (it got...read more
