When we got home and tasted the order it was such a disappointment.... leer más We had a craving for Chinese food and decided to try The Ricebox take-out on our drive home. When we got home and tasted the order it was such a disappointment. We decided on 2 Single combos at $16.50 each, which included Chicken Chowmein and rice, with the option of selecting one other side. We picked Almond Chicken and Crispy Pork which had a few stir fried veggies. There was so much sauce on the Chicken Chowmein that the Almond Chicken and Crispy Pork turned soggy. The sauce was unlike any Chowmein we’ve had…it was a starchy brown gravy, a bit of ginger along with something that tasted like the oil from frying fish. It gave the chicken Chowmein a very fishy flavour profile. The noodles were soggy with very few pieces of chicken and only a few scraps of cabbage and no other veggies in the chowmein. The service was friendly and we received our order promptly but we won’t be back for another meal.
