Contribuir a la retroalimentaciónWe've returned here this year. We compared this restaurant with other ones we passed walking, this one had a signigicant larger menu. For the kids, there was Kaiserschmarren lovely pancakes. We had a pasta and a plate of local meats and cheeses. Lovely.
This little gem is not that easy to get to: first you need to take the cable car up to Merano 2000 and then walk for about 30 minutes to the chalet. But it 's worth it! This is one of the best up the mountain restaurants in Trentino Alto Adige. We had a very delicious sort of eggs with speck plate reminiscent of the English breakfast and a nice canederle (cheese dumplings), a local favourite dish. Portions are quite handsome and the staff nice. Being a nice breezy summer day both inside and outside were full of patrons eating or having gallons of beer. The scenery is breath-taking as one would expect. The brave can have a nice meal and than take the challenge of walking on the mountain for a few hours. The less brave can walk back to the cable car station in under 30 minutes at a leisurely pace.
We took the cable car and walked then to the Alm easy route 45 minutes. The Alm is beautifully in a wind reduced valley. Food was good, service friendly great place
After a very nice tour, we decided to have lunch @Waidmannalm. The restaurant offers typical South Tyrolian food. There is a nice area for kids to play outside while the parents are enjoying a cool drink. The staff was very friendly and the food is amazing. They are serving simple dishes (fried eggs with speck; local ham and potatoes) but it’s so tasty... We also had the spaghetti with ham and meat in tomato sauce and the knoedel with fresh porcini mushroom. It was delicious... and the view is stunning as well...
Fantastic location well worth the hike for the views. Traditional food of high standard and great service.
