Overall: expensive burned pizza. I was excited about getting pizza and after reviewing the restaurants nearby, we decided to give a Barboncino a try. We ordered the speck pizza and the artichoke pancetta pizza. It took some time for our order to comeout ~15 minutes, and the result was not great: both pizzas were burnt, ingredients had no flavor, and the pizza itself was notremarkable. The highlight was the staff: our servers were funny, entertaining, and down to earth.
Good crust, tasty pizza. White pie was a little wet, but it had a good flavor! The red pie with hot honey was great! Highly recommend. Arugula salad with toasted pine nuts had a light but flavorful dressing. Only issue is wine glasses and tableslat spacing can make for accidental spilling hazard coasters can solve easily. Outdoor patio seating has a goodambience/vibes.
To my surprise it wasn?t busy. We were seated immediately. My card info was stolen and the new card hadn?t arrived. Unfortunately, they do not accept Apple Pay. Service was extremely good especially since it wasn?t nearly as packed as I?m usedto. This time I had garlic bread, which was well worth the $11. And a salad which I enjoyed so much. This place neverdisappoints. My spouse and I shared, since we only had little cash on hand and we were both fairly full after.
It was a nice place! Inside was a bit loud and dark, so we changed to the outside table which was so much better. We had kale salad, eggplant pizza, speck without meat, artichoke with mushroom, and tiramisu. It was good for 4 people sharing! I take onestar off because the taste was good but not surprisingly amazing. Maybe it's because it was my first pizza in NY(I don't knowhow other places are) after all good pizza in europe!
