Merlin's Bakery Cafe - Burscough

This charming little gem is located in an unexpected spot, but don't let that deter you! It feels more suited to a trendy high street. The decor is spacious, the staff is friendly, and there’s a wide variety of delicious dishes, all cooked to perfection. Everything is fresh and sweet, and the prices are very reasonable. I highly recommend visiting—you won't be disappointed!

Today, I visited for the first time based on a recommendation, and I wasn't disappointed. I ordered the chicken avocado on sourdough, and it has to be the best bread I've ever had—I'm still thinking about it! It was a great value for the money. The highlight, though, was meeting the lovely pup named Dexter! I can't wait to come back.

I recommend this fabulous little caffe. it is unusual to find such a sophisticated menu in an industrial area. everything is made to home, including the handmade bread and delicious cake. the daily special is the right comfort food that I really enjoyed the brain cake, it was made with much pulled lamb and embroidered with fluffy kartoffels and cheese. I had a big pot tee, complete with a cozy to keep it piping hot! I'll be back soon.

Just returned from our first visit to Merlin's. What a fab place this is....from the lovely welcome, friendly staff and gorgeous food it will definitely not be our last visit. The café is dog friendly and our Ellie was made such a fuss of by the staff...and she was given some water and dog biscuits. Me and my wife both opted for the standard, and full breakfasts....both really tasty and more than reasonably priced. There's a lovely grassed area outside to let the dog have a run around and there's a little lake there too. All the cakes and bread look amazing (we bought a couple of cakes to take home....look forward to those later . If you haven't been, you're missing out. We'll be back
